Minecraft on Shibuya Crossing
Tokyo, Japan
Play Minecraft on Shibuya Crossing in Tokyo, the busiest pedestrian crossing in the world, inside real Google Street View.
Play hereAbout Shibuya Crossing
Shibuya Crossing sits in front of Shibuya Station in Tokyo. When the lights turn red for cars, every pedestrian light turns green at the same time and people cross from all directions at once, which is why it is called a scramble crossing. Thousands of people can cross in a single light cycle at rush hour.
The crossing is surrounded by giant video screens and shops, and it appears in many films and anime. Right next to the station stands the statue of Hachiko, the loyal Akita dog who waited for his owner at the station every day for years after the owner's death.
Playing on Shibuya Crossing in MineMaps
MineMaps drops you right on the crossing, surrounded by the real Street View photo of the screens and buildings. Shibuya has its own set of city mobs, so the street around you feels busy while you build.
Everything you build or destroy stays inside the game. If you turn on the Shared World, other players who visit Shibuya Crossing will see your blocks too, and you can send them a link to come and build with you.
Ideas to try
- Paint the zebra crossing again with white and black blocks.
- Build a tiny Hachiko statue out of blocks in front of the station.
- Dig a subway entrance down into the crossing.
- Invite friends with the share link and race each other across the scramble.
