The Statue of Liberty was a gift from the people of France to the United States, dedicated in 1886. It was designed by the sculptor Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi, and its internal iron framework was engineered by Gustave Eiffel, the same engineer behind the Eiffel Tower.
From the ground to the tip of the torch it stands about 93 meters tall. Its copper skin was originally brown and slowly turned green as it oxidized. For millions of immigrants arriving by boat in New York, it was the first sight of America.
Playing at the Statue of Liberty in MineMaps
MineMaps places you on Liberty Island with the camera aimed up at the statue. The harbor and the statue are the real Street View photo, so a block tower you build next to it looks like it stands in New York Harbor.
Everything you build or destroy stays inside the game. If you turn on the Shared World, other players who visit the Statue of Liberty will see your blocks too, and you can send them a link to come and build with you.
